Where I've been. What I've been doing.

If anyone would notice, aside from an old article I posted an update to and a blog I just wrote this evening, I haven't made an entry to this since September of 2011. In that last post, I made mention of "big things" coming down the pipeline for me. Well, they came alright.

Since shortly after the date of that last post I've been an employee at Transim, a small (at least at the time of my hire) software development whose focus is on creating web-based schematic simulation applications for electrical engineers. It's an amazing place to work. I've been learning a TON. A lot of what I learn is why things are done certain ways, at least in the scheme of programming paradigms and such. Surprisingly enough, the company was so small at the time of my hire that, now that there have been some people to leave and some restructuring of positions, I am quickly becoming a senior programmer. This is not because of any skills or expertise I have brought to Transim, but just because I've been there for longer than most of the developers.

The first project I was place on was for a company called Freescale who wanted us to create a product selector for their line of MCU development systems. The result was the creation of the Solution Advisor. This is a publicly available tool, so I am free to mention it and you, the reader, are able to use it without any repercussions, just create a Freescale account (free) and follow the link. After the completion of that project I was given the lead developer position on another project which has just recently been released (though not publicly so, no name or link). It's all been quite exciting and quite the learning experience.

Well, speaking of work, it's late. At least tomorrow is Friday.
