Starting from scratch... essentially

As it may appear, the site looks a tad bit different. This came about as of last night since I became aware of the fact that the old site was no longer accessible for some reason (mysql permission errors for reasons that I do not fully understand), either way, it prompted me to attempt to upgrade the site to Drupal 7 and ended up just having to start over from scratch. I will be able to reconstruct some of the article I had but, honestly, if I can't get them out of the old database then I'll have to depend on Google Cache images.

I have an interesting theory behind why my site became broken though. Apparently someone submitted a link to my article on using xmonad to the popular social news site Reddit and, I believe, brought my site to the attention of all sorts of bots and such. Now, I don't know shit about internet security, quite honestly, but I did look through the log of recent access and there were a ton of attempts to access places like http://www.valshak.com/something_obscene_and_usually_sexual/ and it makes me think it's some kind of attack.

Anyways, I plan on recovering as much as I can, but that'll take me learning something about MySQL to do; good enough reason as any I guess. I have a couple major articles to write: one on setting up linux on an Asus 1001p EeePC (specifically Arch Linux) and another on the bitching setup I've got going with my desktop and new linux box. Needless to say, I will be using the site more often, Drupal 7 seems to kick ass.
